Join our board and help save the Oquirrhs!
A recap for our work to preserve the Oquirrh Mountains in 2023 and a look forward to plans for 2024.
Join us on Saturday September 30th to hike, run, bike, or ride the new Butterfield trails for a scavenger hunt to win prizes. From 9 am to 1 pm we will have a table set up with prizes for those that get out and discover these new trails.
On August 31st leaders from Salt Lake County, Rio Tinto and the Bureau of Land Management met in the shade of Oquirrh oak trees to cut the ribbon on a new system of trails. 16 miles of trails have been added near the mouth of Butterfield Canyon. The process to get these trails approved and built has taken several years but has been well worth the wait.
The official trail map for the new Butterfield Trail system has been published by Salt Lake County and is accessible here
