Extraordinary drought and record warm temperatures have created very risky conditions in the Oquirrhs. The potential for damaging wildfires is extremely high. Aside from in developed campsites near Tooele there are no campfires allowed in the Oquirrhs. Please be cautious as you venture out and follow some of these helpful tips:
- Do not park on tall or dry grass/brush areas
- Make sure your vehicle is not dragging any parts or chains
- Discard cigarette butts in an ash tray never outdoors
- No campfires outside of developed campgrounds
- No fireworks are allowed in or near the Oquirrhs
